At 8:30 am our guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to Hoa Lu in one of our comfortable air-conditioned vehicles. Arriving at Hoa Lu around 10:00 am, you will explore the village that was once the capital of Vietnam during the 10th century. During its glory days, Hoa Lu covered 3 square kilometres and was enclosed in an inner and outer citadel. Though the citadels no longer stand, Hoa Lu is home to a number of well-preserved temples dedicated to emperors of that era. These temples include the Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Dai Hanh Temples each dedicated to emperors of the same names.
From Hoa Lu, it’s a short drive to Tam Coc. The “Halong Bay on land” is located in the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arriving around 11:30 am you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before taking a two-hour sampan boat tour to explore the caves and outstanding cave waterscape of the Ngo Dong River. The cruise takes you along the streams between the impressive limestone karsts and into the many caves. From your boat, you can take in the otherworldly worldly beauty of this area. Your cruise ends at 3 pm, leaving time for you to explore the local village by bicycle before heading back to Hanoi at 4 pm. You’ll return to Hanoi around 6:30 pm and be dropped back off at your hotel.
